PRHS brass emsemble, 1967

[More Pawnee Rock photos]

This photo is from the 1967 Brave yearbook and is of the PRHS brass ensemble,
which received a I (one) rating at the state music festival in spring 1967.
Pictured are (top row) Glenn Mull and Larry Smith; (middle row) Marty Loving, Edna Kasselman, Tom Morris, Terry Schneider, and Alan Dunavan; (front row) Roger Unruh, Howard Deckert, and Verlin White. Barb Schmidt scanned this image and sent it to us. She added: This group had a great brass sound and was lots of fun to hear and watch. Tom Morris finished up at Larned High School and then played trumpet in the Navy Band, followed by a long and successful career as a professional musician, though somewhere along the way he changed Tom to Thom. I don't know but have wondered whether any of the others in this photo continued to play brass instruments after high school.
